Young women find support through Early Infant Loss group
Kay Asher knows all too well what it's like to lose a baby. When she was 25 years old she had a stillbirth. About four years later she had a miscarriage. Not only that, but her daughter has had four miscarriages and her daughter-in-law, two. "At that time there was really no support other than the immediate family," Asher said. "And they didn't know what to say." Seeing a need to provide support to women who have gone through similar experiences, Asher, a licensed clinical social worker, started the Early Infant Loss group, a support group for women who have had a miscarriage, other fetal loss or who have had a baby who died before the age of 2.
