Heartache of miscarriage lingers

Three years ago today, my third child was supposed to be born, and as I remember him, my heart also sheds a tear.

The blessing of this sweet child's presence came five years after the birth of his next-older sister. The thought of him brought joy to us all.

Then dreadfully, on one sunny autumn day, I blissfully entered a doctor's examination room as a glowing pregnant Mom excited about her baby, and I left as a woman with a "fetus" without a heartbeat.
