Surviving a miscarriage

Having a miscarriage is not only physically difficult, but it has an emotional impact, as well. It is normal to feel a range of feelings that may include anger, sadness, guilt or shock.

Keep in mind that being around friends and family who have children may be painful.

During this time, it is OK to give yourself permission to miss social gatherings or family events.

Men and women deal with loss differently, so couples need to share their feelings and thoughts openly with each other. A pregnancy loss can affect relationships. It can bring you closer or rip you apart. It is important that you both give yourself time and space to heal. You and your spouse may go through the stages of grief. The grieving process can take days, weeks or months.
