Nestled on the outskirts of downtown San Angelo lies a rose garden dedicated to the memory of infants. It will be the final stop in the White Rose Bereavement Group's "Walk to Remember" today.
Stephanie Collins suffered the loss of her daughter Leyla seven years ago and said the group and the walk have helped tremendously in dealing with her daughter's passing.
"I don't know where I would have been without White Rose," Collins said. "I didn't have any friends who had gone through this. And the group was very welcoming. We shared our feelings and cried."
The group
The White Rose Bereavement Group meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Shannon Wellness Center's Ray Delilah Harper Meeting Room.
In December, the group holds a candlelight ceremony on the first Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Baby's Rose Garden.
