New Down's syndrome blood test could put an end to the risk of miscarriage

Lower risk - Mothers wont have the agonising decision over whether to have amniocentesis screening with the new blood testA blood test which eradicates the risk of miscarriages when checking for Down's syndrome is being developed.

Currently, amniocentesis screening is the method for checking the foetus for risk of handicap.

However the highly invasive procedure poses a high risk to the unborn child.

But a research team for the NHS is working on the method of assessing the baby using a sample of maternal blood.

I have 3 children...totally normal pregnancies and births. I feel for every mother out there who has ever lost a child. I cant even imagine the feeling of losing one of my babies...it just breaks my heart.
